Cloning Myths

Description

This free resource from the University of Utah's Genetic Science Learning Center highlights common cloning misconceptions. Myths included in this short article are the idea of "the instant clone," that clones will be created at the same age as the original; the myth of "carbon copies," that clones will look exactly like the original; the idea that cloning as a strictly artificial process; the myth that cloning is a new technology; and the myth that cloned animals will always live short lives and suffer from health problems. Each section contains an explanation of the myth, as well as the facts about cloning that disprove the myth. Many contain links to learn more about the issues and technologies discussed.
