Freedom Quilts Challenge

Description

This webpage provides background knowledge on Freedom Quilts as they relate to a study of the Underground Railroad. Freedom quilts utilize geometric transformations in the creation of their designs. The challenge (linked in a PDF) asks students to recreate one of these patterns and quilt templates are provided (PDF) for the creation of a class quilt. Website links and literature suggestions are listed for further study.
