Bar chart (grades 6-8)

Description

This virtual manipulative enables students to make a bar chart showing quantities or percentages. The bar chart can be made three to twelve columns wide and five to twenty rows tall. Students can label columns and click on cells to make the chart. The manipulative allows the user to enter data as quantities, and then by clicking the percentage button, they can instantly see the percentage relationship of the quantities. Clicking the totals button changes percentages to total quantities in each column. Instructions for using the applet are included, along with a link to the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Standard for Data Analysis and Probability.
